The Stars at Night are Big and Bright

Sun Aug 3, 2008, 1:55 PM
Last night I sat out in the back yard and watched the stars for about an hour. I saw two shooting stars. I could see the Milky Way and several constellations including The Big Dipper. Very much very cool!

Ok...the spider story:

I found a Black Widow spider in a sprinkler valve box in the ground. I coaxed it into a cup and put the lid on it. I put the spidey in a little plastic container that the screws I had recently purchased came in. I put little bitty air holes (remember the air holes) in the bottom of the container and with my exacto knife I sliced a little door on top so I could feed Sally crickets. Unlike Betsy my tarantula, Sally was very interesting to watch as she tied up and sucked the life blood out of her fresh cricket feast. Once I put in 5 crickets at the same time and she became like Super Sally Spider...yeah, cool as all coolness to watch. I gave her to my daughter to take to school for show and tell but the principal of the school wasn't amused in the least and called my wife to Come Get This Damn Spider!! And so she did...and so Sally sat on top of the 10 gallon aquarium that Betsy resides in. My wife didn't like the spider either...but I kept her because she was very cool.
One day, a white sack appeared in the container. I researched the situation on-line and discovered that it was an egg sack that would hatch in about 2 weeks. Then another sack appeared a couple of days later...suddenly, Betsy's abdomen was not near as big as it had been. When my wife understood the situation she reiterated the comment originally made by the principal. And I said I would...and I didn't...and I forgot all about Betsy...until...

One night we were watching a movie and my wife told me a few times that she just felt like something was touching her face. After the movie I sat at my desk and turned on the lamp...Hey Honey, When is the last time you dusted for spider webs....
...oops...
yes, Betsy's eggs had hatched...remember the tiny airholes? thousands of tiny little Black Widow spiders were now creating much webage...

...somehow I am still married...

The moral of the story: When walking along the edge of the abyss, never forget that you are walking along the edge of the abyss!

Guess what... You need another profound journal... TALK ABOUT YOUR GREATNESS! :D

I dont think its very fair that they fence off those little bits of blank space under the bridges so the hobos cant stay there... But I suppose they think of them as gated communities.

...I watched the Sunrise and I saw it's message clear;
The glistening dew on the grass in the yard, waiting to
Freed again into the currents of the Total Atmosphere
And you know I always wonder...
:icontakaru-sauhn:
Why thank you! :D
